Evaluation of ISVA's and IDVA's
The Home Office has recently expanded its funding of ISVA and IDVA posts and has now commissioned a national evaluation of these services across England and Wales. Dr Amanda Robinson at Cardiff University is leading this project, which is a collaborative endeavour involving Dr Angela Morgan and colleagues at the Policy Research Institute, University of Wolverhampton).
The overall aim of the evaluation is to assess how the ISVA and IDVA services have been implemented in various contexts and what impact they have had with regard to providing support to victims. The work is expected to take one year and involves three distinct pieces of research:
- Evaluation of ISVA services: analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, along with case studies and process evaluations in six sites;
- ISVA feasibility study: to assess various methodologies aimed at identifying the impact of ISVAs on attrition in the criminal justice process;
- Evaluation of IDVA services: interview data, case studies and process evaluations in four sites with the possibility of including quantitative data.
